TRUE Certification Advisors

TRUE certification is a zero waste certification program dedicated to measuring, improving and recognizing zero waste performance. Reduction In Motion has certified TRUE advisors on staff that can guide you through the certification process regardless of where you are at in your zero waste journey.

We can start with an waste assessment that results in a gap analysis of your current efforts versus the TRUE certification standards. This will help us create an action plan with you to implement and/or document any processes needed to achieve certification. When ready, we’ll guide you through the entire certification process.

Organizations are considered zero waste when they have achieved a 90% waste diversion rate for 12 consecutive months. Waste diversion is any recycling, reuse, or reduction effort that prevents waste from being placed into a landfill or incinerated. Common waste diversion streams include cardboard recycling, single-stream recycling, donations, composting, battery recycling, and using reusable supplies.

Any physical facility and their operations or an event can achieve certification. To achieve TRUE certification, projects must meet seven minimum program requirements and achieve 31 additional points. For more about TRUE certification including pricing, guides, and projects, please see here.
